Hello Lovelies – As many of you know, for a long time, I have been interested in the connection between our body and mind …. noticing how my own body is very clear about what it wants and doesn’t and what happens when I deviate from that – which recently was pretty full on. I have also been watching my friends struggle with weight loss and the stress and pain of feeling deprived and not ever getting to their ideal, healthy weight.. I have noticed that if I want to lose weight, (for example, when I go back to UK to visit my slender sister! ) – if I diet, I always end up weighing more than I did before I started!
So it has become pretty clear to me that dieting is not the answer to losing weight and keeping it off. I see friends dieting with enormous willpower, effort, struggle, anxiety, feeling deprived, counting kilojoules or points and Yo-Yo-ing the weight back on …… and yet I know that our bodies are designed to know just what to do to return to health, vitality and our perfect weight.
So why do we sabotage ourselves, tempted by “forbidden treats” – dieting and then binging ….. what is it that is sabotaging and why?
I notice that there are times when I “feel like a little something” – This is usually the signal for me that there is something I am feeling, but trying to avoid ….. or maybe I am “bored” (usually because there is something I am not willing to feel!!) – or because I have forgotten to be amazed by life …… – there are many reasons for so-called “comfort eating” – My old friend Wendy used to call it “looking for love in the fridge”!
Since I know that the subconscious mind is driven by emotion, not rational thinking, I know that using willpower to “control” any kind of addiction is a slow and painful and ultimately mostly unsuccessful way of going about it.
The easiest way I know to get the subconscious mind on track, supporting our weight loss goals and not sabotaging them, is through hypnosis. So I set about creating a program which identifies and makes friends with our subconscious emotional resistance. I then use advanced hypnotherapy techniques and language to release that resistance, aligning the conscious and subconscious intent. In this way as your subconscious re-programs, it naturally brings your body to its healthy, slim body weight without effort and starts to drop excess fat almost straight away. At the same time eating patterns change, as your subconscious directs you to foods and activities that feel good without a struggle.
